If you are thinking of breeding your bitch, please think very carefully before doing it. Its not all fun and laughter. Yes, they are cute and rewarding BUT mostly its very early mornings, lots of washing, sticky poo, mopping up of wee, bad smells, constant baths, chewed furniture, wrecked garden, a great deal of mess and no time to do anything else for eight weeks! Add this to paying out for vet's bills, health tests, extra food, Kennel Club Registration, tattooing, bedding, stress and advertising, you'll not make a penny. When breeding is undertaken correctly having puppies is definitely not a money making excerise!
About our Puppies
The photo of Jed, on the top far left, featured in the Border Collie Club of Great Britain Yearbook 2004. His cheeky expression caught my eye as a potential mate for Sunnie. As Sunnie does not have strong conventional markings or good ear carriage, I wanted a mate for her that would hopefully correct this in any offspring. Also, as I wanted the puppies to be good allrounders I wanted to check out puppies from previous matings to see how they had turned out.
Jed has a lot of progeny that compete in obedience with great success. As the plan for some of the puppies was to do agility, trainability was a very important consideration.
When I met Jed his temperament was first class, so the decision was made to use him. The rest, as they say, is history! Many thanks to Chris Freeman (Jed's owner) for her help and advice along the way and for taking a keen interest in the puppies.
I wanted the puppie's Registered names to have some connection with Jed, as obviously they will carry the 'Bordertrix' affix. Knowing that 'High Society' is a film starring Frank Sinatra I decided to name them after some of his film titles, hence...

Bordertrix Step Lively - aka Jake
This handsome boy, Jake, belongs to close friends of ours and we see him regularly and go for walks together, he also comes to us for his holidays. He definitely lives up to his name, incredibly intelligent, this dog causes havoc when bored. Having said that he has a wonderful temperament with people and is quite happy to put up with playing games with my Girls for hours. Extremely protective of his family Jake is not good with other dogs but will permit Skye to move in and take his bone away - she is definintely in charge! Jake will be starting his agility training soon and if we can keep under some degree of control I'm certain he'll be fabulous.
Judge Kelly Shafique said; "Black and white, good head and neck, narrow in front, hindquarters correct, moved okay from behind". < < Placed second in Yearling Dog AND Maiden Dog at East Anglian Border Collie Club December 2007 >

Bordertrix Double Dynamite - aka Blue
Blue has moved to the West Midlands with a family who have had border collies for years, enjoying long walks with his retired owners and his border collie companion, Penny. It was hard for me to say goodbye to Blue as, not only was he the last to go, but he had chosen me to be his. Much prefering to sit and watch me or lay on my feet as I worked than play with his littermates.
I am told he is a dominant young man and adored by all who meet him. I am proud to see how this special Lad has turned out.

Bordertrix None But The Brave - aka Skye
The one we couldn't let go - and for good reason, read all about Skye on her own page.
Judge Geoff Paton said; "A blue/w 11 month old. Nicely put together, very feminine". < <Second in Maiden Bitch at East Anglian Border Collie Club December 2006 >
Judge Derek Allsop said; "Blue, nice head, lovely eye and expression, good mouth and bone, correct ears, good reach of neck and shoulders, good coat, hindquarters and movement, correct tailset, good topline, well handled by young handler." < Winning Yearling Bitch at Richmond Championship Show September 2007 >

Bordertrix The Joker Is Wild - aka Monty
Monty also belongs to close friends of ours and we see him regularly. He's a very large, handsome clone of his dad and has a fantastic temperament. He puts up with his family of three young children with such a laid back attitude, he'd fall over if he wasn't careful. Mind you throw a ball or take him agility training and this dog can certainly move when he wants to! He adores his little sister (Skye) and is quite happy to let her take over his home too!!
Judge Mr M Hart said, "Well grown youngster, reserve in Puppy where his exuberance on the move cost him a place. Handsome and well constructed but needing lots of time". < Winning Maiden Dog at East Anglian Border Collie Club December 2006 >

Bordertrix Young At Heart - aka Poppy
Poppy has her own page too as she was returned to us just under a year after she left. Read her story here >>
Very similar in temperament to Jake - although she doesn't have a problem with other dogs - she is quick to realise when she's onto a good thing!
